Bamboo charcoal naturally filters tap water and has a better environmental footprint compared to wood charcoal as bamboo grows fast and absorbs more carbon dioxide. While removing chlorine, bamboo charcoal also releases nutritious minerals like calcium and potassium into the water. The size is perfectly sized to fit the strainer insert for Qwetch drinking bottles, but the bamboo charcoal can also be used elsewhere and looks very decorative in glass water jugs.
Before first use: boil the bamboo charcoal for 15 minutes to activate it. After one to two months of use, the bamboo charcoal must be reactivated by boiling it again. The total lifetime is 6 months with regular use.
