While they admittedly take a little getting used to, ear cleaners, also known as mimikaki, have been a part of Japanese culture for centuries. Just like cotton swabs, they are used to clean the ears, except that they are reusable and thus considered zero waste.
Use the spoon shaped end to remove ear wax from the outer ear. The ear cleaner from f.e.t.e is made of bamboo with a hemp cord for decoration and is compostable. After each use, the utensil can be cleaned with water or a cloth.
